Another healthcare specific microsite focuses on Emergency Preparedness and Response.  HospitalPortal’s Emergency Preparedness Module includes a variety of components designed to allow hospital staff to quickly and easily locate and share information pertaining to emergencies and disasters.  Typical content that is published on the Emergency Preparedness homepage include a “Hot News” section as well as RSS feeds from pertinent agencies.

Other information such as Emergency Codes, descriptions, HEICS Command System and supporting Job Action Sheets, links, and key documents such as a Facility Map and Evacuation Routes can be organized on the vertical toolbar to make them accessible in just a couple of clicks.   In addition, vendor-provided or in-house produced training videos can provide staff needed refreshers on procedures while more administrative functionality like the Class Registration system allows staff to register for internal classes.

Directories of cooperating organizations such as Red Cross and others and links to supporting Local, State, and Federal agencies are often published on the Emergency Preparedness departmental page as well.  The scroller functionality allows sharing of urgent messages and updates as well as linked additional information.
